How about taking a breath of fresh air near the Bastide!
Accompanied by your guide, go for a walk along the river, from the stone bridge through the Parc aux Angéliques.
Discover the elements that have contributed to the development of this shore over the centuries, as well as those that make it so attractive today.
A greener, more natural, wilder bank than the one opposite, you will have to keep your eyes wide open!
Dotted with story(s), anecdotes, Street Art, and possibly animals, your visit will end with the presentation of the atypical place that is Darwin.
A bit of history
A former barracks that has become a real place of curiosity, it is now home not only to a huge skatepark, but also to companies and artists campaigning for a better tomorrow, like the Bastide district.
If the 2 banks of Bordeaux were indeed united thanks to the stone bridge, an initiative of Napoleon, it took much more than a bridge to transform the Bastide.
This district, first a witness to the beautification of Bordeaux, then became a full-fledged player in port and rail trade, in the wars that have passed through it, and today in the ecological transition… Whether it is the Barracks of the Benauge, the Lion of Veilhan or the Darwin Eco-system space, many buildings intrigue the people of Bordeaux as much as the tourists, encouraging them to cross the Garonne to discover the beauty of the right bank.
This embankment has a lot to offer, offering large green spaces, real playgrounds for children (and sometimes adults too), as well as a variety of activities that allow you to get away from the city a little to get some fresh air for an afternoon…
