The Museum of Fine Arts, a must-see museum in Bordeaux

With 500 years of art history spread over two wings, this museum presents emblematic works from each major European artistic movement. The tour goes from the Renaissance to Cubism, via Baroque and Impressionism.

What strikes us the most is the gigantic size of some of the paintings! Children of all ages will love finding little hidden details, the museum has even made it a game that you will find available in each room.

To support children from 7 years old, the museum has created a discovery booklet with adapted information, games and riddles. It is self-service at the entrance to the museum.

The museum’s collection is rich, with temporary exhibitions that complement it at the Galerie des Beaux-Arts. You will find oil, watercolor, pastel paintings, as well as sculpture

Highlights

It is a museum on a human scale, with a beautiful green space to take a break between two collections. Its programming is punctuated by various workshops and visits for families and young children.
